A little tribute to The Wall!!!

Hi Rahul, When they asked you to go out of the one-day team, you went, but came back a better one-day player! When they asked you to keep wickets and rescue the team from critical situations over and over again and again through matches, you did it without hesitation... When they asked you to open the innings just at the brink of a match, you did it with the highest of quality every time... When everyone fails to put bat on ball, you grind the bowlers into complete submission... How could you do it all for over and over 16 long years, and still be so humble?? Though there were classier batsmen in the team, it was you who took us through the hurdles in almost all the difficult situations against the best of oppositions... The only fact for which I would feel bad is that you rendered your best services for Indian cricket when Sachin Tendulkar was on top - and so, till the end, you are under his own shadow... But, to be frank, it was you who helped so many other flashy cricketers to establish themselves...!! Possibly, there is none better to shower thankful regards on you than your good friend Sourav Ganguly, who once said - "Indian cricket should be thankful to Rahul..." "There is no short-cut to success... Hard work is the only way" is a very old saying - you stand testimony to that...! Thanks a lot for your service to the Indian team!! You truly taught me great lessons about life, adaptability, hard work, persistence, work ethics... a lot more, and above all, Humillity!!! Thanks-a-ton!!!
