The Germans' Dream run in FIFA World Cup 2010 !!
This picture in a forward mail from one of my friends said it all -
This was not just a forward - because the Germans almost did it !!!! One goal by Miroslav Klose during the world cup was probably an exact video shootage of the above picture !!!
What an amazing run did the Deutsch team have during the past fortnight!! Goal after goal after goal flowed through each of its young guns until the semifinal, where their dream run was stopped by a Spanish team who were on a dream run themselves, but of a different kind !
The German dream run, though has to be appreciated more, just because they achieved all these on the back of so many tragedies, some of them being loss of services of one of their most senior player and captain - Michael Ballack - nursing a bad injury and the untimely suicide of one of their goal keepers Robert Enke. But, coach Joachim Leow had other plans - he forged a winning unit from so many promising youngsters, brought the best out of players like Ozil, Mueller, etc., and formed Bastian Schweinsteiger into a central lynchpin upon whom the whole team revolved upon. When all the teams complained about the Jabulani ball, the Germans started practising with it months back, and found their touch right from the moment they landed in the Dark Continent.
Just loved to watch them play the attacking brand of football they played... Though they lost this time (secured the 3rd place, atleast, at the time I wrote this post.. ;-)), they are bound to come back stronger - considering the increasing maturity being shown by its youngsters.
